It's Holiday Season, Weekend Warriors!

What an incredible time of CELEBRATION from Rosh Hoshannah to Dia De Los Muertos, Diwali and Halloween - we're just getting started and I'm LOVING all of the pictures of your family traditions and getting to spend a little extra time with our crew, too! We had a blast volunteering with many of you over at our friends at ICAN in Chandler - handing out candy to the kids this week was the best way to head into the weekend. If you missed that event, we've got another one coming up this week at Clothes Cabin and we're partnering with Confidence Kits on a new project they are doing in the Gilbert Public Schools this year AND Branching Out on their holiday drive, so be sure to follow us on social if you aren't already for all the fun ways you can get involved before the new year. 

As we head into election week, I know many of you have already taken your ballots to the polls, but if you haven't - don't forget Tuesday is Election Day. It's a big one for all of our communities so be sure to cast your vote. If you arent' sure of where to go on Election Day or want to participate in the Emergency Voting locations this weekend, you can check out this site for all the details. We get a ton of questions in an election year about how the election impacts home prices - and spoiler alert, it really doesn't. You'll definitely get some folks who have held off on making a move until after the election but most people are focused on the drivers of home prices and market pace which are inventory (supply) and interest rates (which impact demand). 

In fact, we've got more families under contract this year than we did at this same time last year and more closings in the month than we did even two years ago. Valley wide, sellers are getting a greater percentage of their sales price than they were two years ago and market conditions are VERY similar with the exception of about 2 weeks longer list time and about 5% higher in prices. Folks have BEEN waiting and many have decided they've just been waiting too long. November and December are sweet spots for our buyers to get in before the new year and sellers are using this time to prep so that they are ready to go after the ball drops.

A huge thank you to everyone that came out to our ICAN Harvest Festival Volunteer event this week, it was so much fun! We got to bring some of our newest members of the Amy Jones Group out to meet our volunteers and together with Community on Purpose hung out with hundreds of kiddos as they got to have a little Halloween fun at the main campus in Chandler. We love ICAN for all of the incredible work they do right here in our very own community and would definitely encourage you to check them out if you haven't yet!

As always, our team is focused on serving organizations that support youth and families in our community and we've got another volunteer event coming up this month that we'd love to have you join us at! The Clothes Cabin, based in Gilbert, serves families in need with much needed items including hygiene and clothes in a dignified way. We're getting together this month to collect menstruation supplies and pack period packs for school age girls and homeless women, will you join us? 

This year we announced the launch of our Community Heroes Appreciation Program with a special gift of gratitude for military members, veterans, educators, medical professionals, first responders, and government/civil servants when buying or selling a home with us. 

In recognition of these invaluable contributions, we offer a $1,000 credit towards closing costs as a thank you for the service to our country and community. This program was originally founded to honor our military heroes, inspired by Amy Jones’ late father, Richard (Mac) McGarrigle, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and we’ve since expanded it to include all community heroes who make a difference every day.

Additionally, we partner with title companies, lenders and even moving companies who offer special programs designed to assist community heroes with their moving and community connection needs. These programs can help make homeownership more affordable by offering lower down payment requirements, reduced interest rates, and other financial assistance to ease the burden of a big move.

Tempe Town Lake 25th Anniversary Celebration - Sunday, November 3rd, 2024

Tempe Town Lake will commemorate 25 years as an oasis of opportunity in the desert with a free family friendly event on Sunday, Nov. 3, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Tempe Beach Park. Celebrate with live music, activities for all ages, boating opportunities, arts and crafts, games and more. Ever been in a pedal boat or kayak on the lake? Now is your chance to try it for free. Tempe Boat Rentals will offer free 30-minute kayak and pedal boat rentals on a first-come basis.
